The orange and yellow snappers featured on our photo gallery are 2006 Hypomelanistic Common Snapping Turtles. They are now fully grown adults and are laying eggs for us. Each month we offer a small number of these beautifully colored turtles on this site. The Hypos come in Black and White, Silver, Cream/White, Yellow, Orange and Red. At two inches their color begins to show, by three inches they are“glowing.”At four inches the Oranges show up. Due to numerous requests, we will try to list them at 3 – 4.5 inches.

We are only able to list a few at a time, and they don’t last long – Keep an eye on our site for availability and photos of Hypo Snappers currently available.

Please note that California, Washington state and Oregon do not allow Snapping Turtles to be kept by individuals – so we cannot ship Snapping Turtles to those states without special permits.
